Papercrane

Papercrane

Intercom counts a customer who gave up as resolved.

That is the assumed resolution, and Fin's reports are built from the same count that bills you. Papercrane's AI agent rereads the conversations, joins Intercom with Stripe and your product database, and builds a live hosted dashboard of what actually got resolved and what it is worth.

Last month's resolutions, read again

Intercom counts a resolution when the customer confirms the answer or stops replying, and the only native report on that count is your invoice. Read the conversations back and the one number becomes three.

Last month, reread

Stripe · your dashboard

Intercom can tell you the 400. Only the conversations can tell you the 46, and only your billing data can tell you which of them matter.

Why Intercom can't second guess itself

The definition is Intercom's.

A confirmed answer and a customer who walked away close the same way, and Fin's performance charts are drawn from that same count. The system that bills the resolution also grades it.

Custom reports chart Intercom's metrics.

They live on the Advanced and Expert plans, and even there you compose from the metric list, 20 to a chart. “Resolutions where the same customer came back” is not on the list.

The other half of the answer lives outside.

What an account pays and when it renews sit in Stripe and your product database. Intercom can't see either one, so the join has nowhere to happen.

What the same join answers next

The same join that rescores a month of resolutions answers the questions your CFO actually asks about support.

Who came back within a week of a billed resolution, and what do they pay us?

joins Stripe

Conversations per $1,000 of MRR by plan: which tier costs the most to support?

joins Stripe

Did the accounts that churned this quarter write in more during their last 90 days than the accounts that stayed?

joins your product database

Which companies have an open conversation right now and a renewal inside 60 days?

joins Stripe

What share of customers skip Fin and ask for a human in their first message, and is it growing?

Which team carries the after hours load, and did the new rotation actually move it?

Each answer comes back as a chart on a live dashboard that stays current, not a number pasted into a slide.

1. Approve read access on Intercom's consent screen

2. Ask a question

3. The agent plans, queries Intercom and Stripe, and builds a hosted dashboard

4. It stays live, and when a refresh breaks, the error routes back to the agent that built it for repair

Read access only, straight from Intercom, not from exports. Papercrane never writes to your inbox, never replies to a customer, and never touches Fin's behavior.

How teams run this today

The transcript sampling hour.

Intercom's own advice for a suspicious resolution count is to audit a sample by hand. Their team reviews weekly; yours has a day job.

The export without the messages.

Conversation CSVs carry metadata but drop the message text, and the interesting month is 10,000 rows deep. The spreadsheet audit stops at the download step.

The pipeline or the platform.

A connector into a warehouse, or a customer success platform with its own implementation, both get you the join eventually. You wanted an answer this quarter.

When you don't need us

If your questions are about the inbox itself, volume, response times, team workload, Fin's own performance dashboards, Intercom's reporting is genuinely good and you already pay for it; stay there. If what you want is graded agent scorecards and coaching workflows, a QA product like MaestroQA is built for exactly that and we are not. And if your goal is replacing Fin with a cheaper agent, half the internet is selling you one; we audit the answers, we don't give them. Papercrane earns its place when the question crosses systems, conversations against MRR, churn, and renewals, and when the answer needs to stay live on a dashboard instead of in one month's export.

Questions support leads ask us

The second read gets sharper with the revenue side connected. Most Intercom accounts connect Stripe next, then the product database, then the CRM.

Connect Intercom, ask who came back after their resolution, and have the answer on a dashboard before the next invoice lands.
